The chicken is from the town of Marans, France. It comes in several color varieties, but this shade is inspired specifically by the Black Copper Marans rooster, as well as the rich deep copper brown egg laid by the Marans hen.

About the Collection: From the "Birds of a Feather" collection. This is a permanent collection inspired by all things chicken!
There are twelve shades in this collection- ten a lustrous and glowy, shifting shades. Two are eye-safe borosilicate-based glitter blends. The name "Birds of a Feather" was suggested by Aradia Diane Willard. I think it's perfect! There was a lovely teal eyeshadow shade of the same name from a 2012 collection, so I'm borrowing it for this.
APPLICATION TIP: These colors are all swatched over a light layer of NYX cream eyeshadow base in skintone. A base is necessary to bring the highlight/duochrome effects portrayed in the swatch photos. If you wear them without base, you won't see as strong of a color shift. A stronger effect can be achieved by using a sticky base, but I don't photograph my swatches over a sticky base.
All colors other than COCHIN are vegan. The shade Cochin contains carmine.

Sizes: This collection is available in three sizes:
- Sample baggie: eighth (1/8) teaspoon in a zip baggie
- Deluxe Sample: quarter (1/4) teaspoon in 3 gram jar. Top label No sifter.
- Full Size Jar: 5 gram jar with sifter and top/bottom labels, custom jar art. This size jar contains 3/4 teaspoon which has a minimum net gram weight of 1.2 grams. I label jar weights on the conservatively low side. Product ranges in weight depending on formula from 1.5 to 2 grams.
NOTE: While we have made all attempts for photographs to accurately depict colors, photography unfortunately does not accurately reveal the depth and interplay of color and effect of these shadows. Also, please note that variations do exist between different computer monitors.
